http://www.noobcube.com/tutorials/html-css/css-image-maps-a-beginners-guide-/
In this tutorial, we're not only going to get you up to speed on how to create a CSS image map, but, we're also going to take it a couple steps further and add hover states to our image map using a CSS background image sprite, as well as a "tooltip" like popup.

http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/mmistakeslog/~3/J1kKVcp2Ak8/595575992
“Designers are in a constant process of weighing each decision against previous ones, against common conventions and against the user’s goals in order to create an interface, a product or a service that is clear in all its meaning and function. There is no denying the difficulty in this process. There is a delicate balance between the simplicity of use and the complexity of usefulness. But it is true the product that is clear in its purpose, elegant in its execution and simple in its use will set itself apart from the competition and endear itself to the user.” - (via Joshua Brewer) Funny how the words make it pop or sizzle are absent from this quote…

This book I designed, wrote, drew, whatever is old news. But Blurb just let me into a beta program to test out their new BookShow widget. It let’s you embed your books anywhere and share with friends who probably don’t want to buy an overpriced book from you anyways. But hey… they can view every page in full screen mode…
